Missing pieces

Recently, due to a funeral I attended, I was very much reminded of my mom’s passing in 2014. This was the first time for me to attend after her funeral, so it brought back some painful memories.

Although I’m doing very well, and am usually a very happy lassie, this particular occassion made me very sad. The best way for me to express that (next to crying my eyes out of their sockets) is by drawing and painting.

So here’s my small salute to all the special people whom I’ve had the privilege of knowing, and who passed away, some much too soon.

Life is a puzzle, and along the way we lose some pieces…

Missing Pieces was created with Prismacolor pencils, black marker and white acrylic paint on toned Strathmore paper.
