Colon cancer awareness

I hadn’t had time to post this illustration. March is colon cancer awareness month.

My mother was diagnosed with colon cancer back in 2012. So the dark-blue ribbon month has a special meaning to me. Millions of people are battling this horrible disease on a daily basis, and they deserve an enormous amount of respect for their strength and optimism. I applaud all these people simply for getting out of bed each day, something we usually take for granted, but can be hard for them, because of the side effects they are experiencing due to chemo or radiation.

This illustration to me shows the strength people suffering from colon cancer are showing the world.

She was created with Prismacolor pencils, black markers and white acrylic paint on toned Strathmore paper.
