My first ever publication…

This last summer I painted Time Traveler. When I uploaded it to my gallery on Elfwood.com, it caught the attention of the publisher of the Rejected Quarterly, a quarterly literary magazine published in the United States, and for sale at several bookstores in California, New York en a couple of other states.

He approached me, and asked me if I would be interested in painting the cover of the fall issue. Of course I was!

It so happens I was in the middle of painting Secret of the Shell at that point, and the Rejected Quarterly thought it would make a great cover. And now here we are, my first publication:

the Rejected Quarterly fall 2013 issue

I can’t wait to get my hands on the hardcopy!

Of course since painting Secret of the Shell, I’ve been very busy adding new paintings to my gallery. One of my latest illustrations is my new Ribbonette. Ribbonette #4 Pink for breast cancer awareness was created on coffee stained watercolor paper with pencils and acrylics. Of course this is not the best of pictures (you even see a part of my thumb hehe), but you get the idea.

I have also painted what will become our Christmas card this year. I can’t show it to you yet, but keep posted the next few weeks!
