A couple of days ago I was able to finish my steampunk art piece of Time Traveler, just in time for the Magic Fair (which was lovely).
I’ve had a lot of positive remarks on Time Traveler already. I’m very happy with the way she turned out, especially the look in her eyes. She’s sad to leave her love behind, but she’s still determined to travel through time, and see what the future has in store for her.
A couple of years ago I didn’t dare dream that I would paint like this. It’s been an exciting time, developing my technique, which I keep trying to improve with each piece I create. But also, now I’m really starting to create my own stories with my art, which for me makes them even more precious. I can’t wait for the next series of art classes to start in September!
Time Traveler is 9 x 12 inch / 23 x 30,5cm, and she was painted with acrylics on gessoboard. Expect to see limited edition art prints of her in my store soon at http://www.starlaneart.com
Now on with my new painting! Another fantasy portrait, called Secret of the Shell. I’m using the same technique I did for Time Traveler, painting everything in greys, blacks and whites first. After that, I will glaze the colour layers. A time consuming, but fun way to work. She will be the same size as Time Traveler (9×12 inch/23×30,5cm), and she will also be painted with acrylics on gessoboard.
